Meanwhile, Elbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Briggsdale, falling 53-27. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Falcons are ranked 72nd).
Despite the defeat, Elbert saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Piper Warren dropped a double-double with 12 points and 24 boards. Warren has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times she's played.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Pikes Peak Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Elbert struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Pikes Peak Christian skirted past Elbert 41-39 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Pikes Peak Christian repeat their success, or does Elbert have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
