This season hasn't been kind to The Waldron Bulldogs, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They were outmatched by Nashville on the road and fell 55-6. Waldron has struggled against Nashville recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Nashville to victory were Tucker Dixon and Tre Hopkins. Dixon rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while Hopkins rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Hopkins is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Cortez Cooper made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Waldron's defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 11-1 Arkadelphia and 6-2 Malvern (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.6% over those games). As for Nashville, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waldron will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Mena at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Nashville, they will head out on the road to face off against Malvern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Malvern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
