Baseball Recap: Charlotte's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Charlotte waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Fort Myers Green Wave with a sharp 8-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Fightin' Tarpons, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Frank Planer was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Luke Wadsworth was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Charlotte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Charlotte pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Fort Myers, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coming up, Charlotte will head out to take on IMG Academy Royal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. IMG Academy Royal's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Charlotte's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fort Myers, they will host Estero at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fort Myers 3.9, Estero 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
