It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Carmel had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Grayslake North Knights, sneaking past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Corsairs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Bella Cameron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Grace King was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Carmel's win bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Grayslake North, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.
As of now, neither Carmel nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
