It was a good run, but the Belle Chasse Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Hammond by a score of 63-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (59), Belle Chasse still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Belle Chasse had strong showings from Kyle Reeves, who scored 21 points along with two steals, and Jaylen Hughes Ingram, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was MJ Bacani, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Belle Chasse's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8. As for Hammond, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.
Belle Chasse will take on Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Phoenix will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Belle Chasse is ranked 123rd). As for Hammond, they will head out on the road to square off against Broadmoor at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Broadmoor has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16.
