Kadie Presley was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Aspen Lyles also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lebanon). They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over LaVergne on Tuesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Alyssa Horne made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Horne was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Lebanon got a massive performance out of Caitlin Greer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Greer a new career-high. Keeli Davis was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Lebanon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Lebanon now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Cookeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.
Cookeville might still be hurting after the 16-6 loss they got from Lebanon when the teams last played back in April. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
