Softball Recap: Elkhart Wins Going Away Against Teague

Elkhart made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Teague, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Elkhart Elks put the hurt on the Teague Lions with a sharp 24-11 win on Friday. The Elks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.

Elkhart got a massive performance out of Londyn Holland, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Holland has posted since back in April of 2024. Cali Boyd was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Elkhart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in nine consecutive contests.

Elkhart picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 9-3. As for Teague, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Elkhart will face off against Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.38 runs per game on average), something Elkhart will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Teague, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Teague Lions face off against China Spring Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
