The Tomball Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Klein Cain Hurricanes at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Tomball is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Tomball stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They never let Klein Collins onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. Given Tomball's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Klein Collins is ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tomball hit Klein Collins with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Gabby McCuistion (2),
Cara Beth Cooley, and
Avery Kelley.
Meanwhile, Klein Cain narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Klein Collins 1-0.
Tomball's win bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for Klein Cain, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
Everything went Tomball's way against Klein Cain in their previous meeting back in January as Tomball made off with a 5-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tomball since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
