Having just played yesterday, the Cedar Valley Aviators will jump right back in to play the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cedar Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
Cedar Valley entered their tilt with Campo Verde with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Cedar Valley made off with a 41-40 win over Campo Verde. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Cedar Valley has scored all season.
Cedar Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Bawden, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bawden pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Heath Christensen, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Red Mountain unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Campo Verde 47-43.
Cedar Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Red Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
