The Longwood Lions lost against the Ward Melville Patriots back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Longwood received a tough blow as they fell 35-21 to Ward Melville.
Ward Melville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Burgos, who threw for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Griffin Kramer also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Longwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ward Melville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-1.
Longwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ward Melville is also done with their season.
