Basketball Recap: Fleming Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fleming came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the West Potomac Wolverines by a score of 48-39. Given the Colonels' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Wolverines are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fleming pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for West Potomac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fleming will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on William Byrd at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. West Potomac will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Woodson at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
