The Riverside Warriors will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the James F. Byrnes Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Riverside on the road against Woodmont as the team secured a 82-32 win. Given Riverside's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Woodmont is ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riverside's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kyndal Haroski , who scored 15 points along with 5 steals, and Madison Garrido, who scored 21 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The contest was Haroski 's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Elly Trickett was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Meanwhile, James F. Byrnes didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Greer on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 56-50 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for James F. Byrnes.
Mauldin's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Riverside's defeat dropped theirs to 3-1.
Riverside strolled past James F. Byrnes in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 85-69. Will Riverside repeat their success, or does James F. Byrnes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
