This season hasn't been kind to the Yates Center Wildcats, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They were outmatched by Humboldt on the road and fell 70-16. Yates Center was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-6.
Sam Hull was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five steals for Humboldt. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Works, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Yates Center's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Humboldt, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yates Center's road trip will continue as they head out to face Chetopa at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Chetopa is ranked 348th, while Yates Center is ranked 354th). As for Humboldt, they will head out on the road to take on Erie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
