Midland Trail and Sherman are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Midland Trail Patriots will be playing at home against the Sherman Tide at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland Trail will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Saturday, Midland Trail was able to grind out a solid win over Riverside, taking the game 62-54. Given Midland Trail's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Riverside is ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Midland Trail got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Thad Brown out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Campbell, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Sherman had to settle for a 51-49 loss against Man last Monday.
Midland Trail has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Sherman, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Midland Trail strolled past Sherman in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 56-40. Does Midland Trail have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sherman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
