After a string of four wins, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to North Adams 51-45. If Lynchburg-Clay was looking for revenge after losing 53-46 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
When it comes to explaining why Lynchburg-Clay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Addison West. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points along with three steals. That was a full 53.3% of Lynchburg-Clay's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jade Massey was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Lynchburg-Clay's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for North Adams, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Lynchburg-Clay will head out on the road to take on the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Union is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. North Adams will take on the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in South Gallia's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.
