The Chesapeake Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past South Webster 50-29. Chesapeake pushed the score to 41-16 by the end of the third, a deficit South Webster cut but never quite recovered from.
South Webster's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Addi Claxon, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds, and Bre Potters who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Potters has scored all season.
Chesapeake's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for South Webster, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.
Chesapeake will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on River Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. River Valley is on a five-game streak of home wins, Chesapeake a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for South Webster, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Valley at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th.
