The Hardee Wildcats and the Frostproof Bulldogs will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hardee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Hardee pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mulberry. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Thursday (55), Hardee still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, even though Fort Meade scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, Frostproof still came out on top. Frostproof snuck past Fort Meade with a 74-69 victory. The score was all tied up 32-32 at the break, but Frostproof was the better team in the second half.
It was another big night for Sevastian Rosado, who scored 34 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Frostproof's points. Maurice Blakely was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Hardee now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Frostproof, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Hardee suffered a grim 75-55 defeat to Frostproof in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Hardee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
