The Chanute Blue Comets will head out on the road to challenge the Louisburg Wildcats on Thursday. Chanute is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Chanute came up short against Independence and fell 44-31.
Meanwhile, Louisburg's nine-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-41 win over Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Louisburg has managed all season.
Chanute's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Louisburg, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-8.
Chanute came up short against Louisburg in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 51-39. Can Chanute avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
