League recap: Lord breaks off league-leading run for Jonesboro

Jonesboro's Spencer Lord recorded the longest rushing play in 1A 6 Man 2 Region IV District 15 (6 Man) this season in his game against Iredell last week. Lord ran for 72 yards on the play and finished with 96 on the day as his team defeated the Dragons.

Jonesboro extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Iredell, 60-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for Eddie Gallegos' team.

Jonesboro's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tyler Wise has thrown for 669 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Dustin Nichols has four catches for 118 yards. Lord leads the league in rushing with 666 yards.

A big matchup in 1A 6 Man 2 Region IV District 15 (6 Man) this week will be when Don Coffell's team takes on Cranfills Gap. At the moment, the Dragons are in second, while the Lions are in third.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Eagles take on Morgan. Jonesboro has allowed 272 points this season, while the Eagles have given up 298. The Eagles allowed 13 points last week as they topped Iredell.

Jonesboro took down the Dragons 60-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Wise threw for 100 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 70 yards in the win.
