The Gordon-Rushville Mustangs can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They claimed a resounding 51-21 win over Mullen on the road. Given Gordon-Rushville's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Mullen is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Haley Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with eight steals and six assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Mckinley Grover was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Gordon-Rushville's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-4. As for Mullen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Gordon-Rushville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chadron at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Chadron has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 249 points over their last four contests. As for Mullen, they will face off against Arthur County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
