People's Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged American History out 68-66. The victory was some much needed relief for People's Prep as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
American History lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ihjamir Williams, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Davis, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
People's Prep's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for American History, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. People's Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Marion P. Thomas at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Jersey (Marion P. Thomas is ranked 376th, while People's Prep is ranked 382nd). As for American History, they will head out on the road to square off against Bard Early College at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Bard Early College's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while American History has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
