The biggest upset of the week belonged to Nature Coast Tech, who took down 216th ranked Nature Coast Tech, 14-7. Kei'von Dorsey in the win.
Springstead extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 6 this week by beating Mitchell, 35-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Springstead's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tyler Mahla threw for 62 and one touchdown and Tyler Anderson had 42 yards receiving. On the ground Mahla chipped in 157 yards. Latavious Hannah helped Springstead's passing attack out by catching one ball for 40 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Mahla of Bill Vonada's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 731. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Sharks' Matthew Breida has rushed for 1278 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is George Cordova. The River Ridge star has 20 catches for 301 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Eagles take on Nature Coast Tech. As it stands, Springstead is in first, while Charles Liggett's team is in fourth.
The Eagles took down the Mustangs 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mahla in the win.
