They took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Haven Christian on Saturday. West Florida Baptist Academy has struggled against South Haven Christian recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Conquerors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Pearce, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Pearce has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Makenna Enfinger, who scored 16 points.
Aliya Gagliano continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Haven Christian, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gagliano has scored at least a third of South Haven Christian's points. Alexis Palmore was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
West Florida Baptist Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for South Haven Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
West Florida Baptist Academy and Pensacola Catholic will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pensacola Catholic is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for South Haven Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Pleasant View Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
