Wickenburg was the 4-3 winner over Phoenix Country Day when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Wickenburg fell just short of Phoenix Country Day by a score of 8-7 on Saturday. The Wranglers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Wickenburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hazen Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Jones also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-5. As for Phoenix Country Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wickenburg will host Bagdad at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Bagdad will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Wickenburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Phoenix Country Day, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Phoenix Country Day Eagles duke it out with Veritas Prep Falcons at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
