The Meadows School Mustangs suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Pahrump Valley at home and fell 50-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points The Meadows School has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why The Meadows School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isabella Lopez. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, The Meadows School struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pahrump Valley racked up 21 assists.
Pahrump Valley had a senior duo take command as Paris Coleman scored 25 points along with five rebounds and two steals and Kailani Martinez dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Martinez hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Heaven Cooper, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The Meadows School's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Pahrump Valley, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with that victory, which was their 16th straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Meadows School will take on Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. As for Pahrump Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sports Leadership & Management at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Sports Leadership & Management will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Pahrump Valley is ranked eighth).
