After losing to the Union County Patriots the last time they met, the Connersville Spartans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Connersville took down Union County 42-24 on Wednesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Connersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hailey Sembach, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahniyah Bennett, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Union County still got an impressive performance from Katie McCashland, who scored nine points along with four steals. McCashland is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Connersville's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Union County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Connersville will be playing in front of their home fans against Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Union County, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eastern Hancock presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Union County in Indiana (Eastern Hancock is ranked 35th, while Union County is ranked 262nd).
