It was a good run, but the Ravenswood Red Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Wirt County. Ravenswood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wirt County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emily Wratchford, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Hadleigh McGoskey, who scored 14 points.
Ravenswood's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Wirt County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ravenswood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Southern at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Southern is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Wirt County, they will head out on the road to take on Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Calhoun is ranked 98th, while Wirt County is ranked 78th).
