Statesboro has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Greenbrier Wolfpack at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Statesboro knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Wolfpack like a good challenge.
Even though Bradwell Institute scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, Statesboro still came out on top. Statesboro secured a 66-60 W over the Tigers. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as Statesboro did.
Alyssa Staten continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 20 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reya Johnson, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Greenbrier's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight defeat. They fell to Jenkins 48-43.
Statesboro's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Greenbrier, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Statesboro against the Wolfpack when the teams last played on Tuesday as the team secured a 57-25 victory. With Statesboro ahead 38-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
