Bloomfield hasn't had much luck against Gananda Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bombers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Panthers at 4:45 p.m. Gananda Central took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bloomfield, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Bloomfield beat Haverling 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bombers.
Morgan McLaughlin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. McLaughlin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bloomfield got a massive performance out of Gunner Vogel, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Vogel has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Levi Gumaer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double.
East Rochester hit Gananda Central with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Panthers fell 7-4 to the Bombers. The game marked the Blue Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Like Bloomfield, Gananda Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Henry Shutts. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Shutts has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Shutts wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Stoughton, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Stoughton has hit this season. Anthony DAgostino was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Gananda Central's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Bloomfield, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
