South Lake gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out the Tavares Bulldogs 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 16, 2024.

Zoie Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits.

At the plate, South Lake's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Stone, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

South Lake has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Tavares, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Coming up, South Lake will venture away from home to challenge Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
