Mid-State 38 - Watchung recap November 13, 2013
Ridge extended the longest winning streak in Mid-State 38 - Watchung this week by beating Watchung Hills Regional, 42-6. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Red Devils.
Plainfield fell to Elizabeth 43-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Ridge's dynamic duo of Conor Hughes and Ryan Bell proved to be unstoppable against the Warriors, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hughes threw for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns and Bell had 71 yards receiving. Michael Dunsheath helped Ridge's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 53 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Chris Chugunov of Montgomery is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,688. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nick Franzese. The Ridge star has 32 catches for 552 yards.
North Hunterdon and Voorhees played the most contested game in the league this week, with North Hunterdon eventually emerging with a 7-6 victory. Jordan Ditzel ran for 109 yards in the win.
