The biggest upset of the week belonged to Dan River, who took down 135th ranked Chatham, 53-22.
The Wildcats moved up to 108 from 167 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A Conference 37. Dan River was able to move up by besting the Cavaliers 53-22.
Gretna's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dyon Rosser threw for 94 and 1 touchdown and Virgil Glass had 44 yards receiving. On the ground Rosser contributed 162 yards. Von Bennett helped Gretna's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 35 yards.
Glass was the best wideout in the league this week as the Hawks bested Altavista Combined School. Glass racked up 2 receptions for 44 yards. Bennett helped Gretna's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 35 yards.
Gretna's Rosser and Chris Hall have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Rosser has thrown for 630 yards this season, while Hall has 17 catches for 274 yards. Terrell Edmunds from Ferrell Edmunds' team leads the league in rushing with 777 yards.
Kevin Saunders' team and the Colonels played the most contested game in 2A Conference 37 this week, with Kevin Saunders' team eventually emerging with a 23-22 victory. Rosser ran for 162 yards in the win.
