While Parkland didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Western Guilford Hornets 22-10 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Parkland's sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Western Guilford, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Coming up, Parkland is taking a road trip to face off against Mount Tabor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkland's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mount Tabor has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Western Guilford, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-0 defeat against Northwest Guilford on the 28th.
