A big 28-point first quarter helped carry
Gilman (Baltimore, Md.) to a 49-2 victory over Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Greyhounds led 49-0 at the half.
The the Greyhounds raced to 28 in the first quarter alone and never looked back.

A 42-8 Gilman victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Archbishop Spalding, which notched a 14-13 victory over McDonogh in its previous outing. With the win the Greyhounds extended their winning streak to four games.
In a MIAA A game next week Archbishop Spalding (3-3) takes on Mount St. Joseph, and Gilman (4-2) will go up against Loyola Blakefield also in a MIAA A game.
