The Culver Community Cavaliers are taking a road trip to take on the West Central Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Culver Community will be strutting in after a win while West Central will be coming in after a loss.
Culver Community is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Oregon-Davis get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Monday. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Caleb McCuen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonas McCuen, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyler Weiger, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, West Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Pioneer on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 10-9. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Tate Leman spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Zane Wall and Connor Huber did some serious damage despite the final result: Wall went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Huber went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and three runs. West Central is 2-1 when Wall posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Teagan Holle was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-12. As for West Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
Culver Community suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to West Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
