The Huntingdon Mustangs will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Brighton Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. One thing working in Huntingdon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Huntingdon is ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Ingomar. Huntingdon came out on top against Ingomar by a score of 74-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Brighton came up short against Arlington last Tuesday and fell 55-42.
Despite the loss, Brighton saw an underclassman step up: Jayla Jones scored 25 points. Jones continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mariah Maclin, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Huntingdon is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Brighton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
