The Kemmerer Rangers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mountain View, falling 42-0. While losing is never fun, Kemmerer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Mountain View is ranked fourth).
Mountain View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justus Platts led the charge by rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Jackson Sawyer was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Kemmerer's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Lyman and 5-2 Cokeville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 69.8% over those games). As for Mountain View, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Kemmerer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mountain View will be playing at home against Wheatland at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
