Adding to the longest winning streak in Super Essex - American this week, Montclair beat West Orange 40-13. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Mounties.
Seton Hall Prep took down Livingston 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Andrew Harmon ran for 120 yards in the win.
Elijah Robinson was a passing and rushing force as Montclair topped the Mountaineers. He completed 10 passes for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 122 yards. Robinson's key target this week was Donovan McDonald, who caught 4 passes for 92 yards.
Harmon was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 120 yards on 7 carries as the Pirates defeated West Orange. Teammate Nasir Austin added to the ground attack by rushing for 45 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Damion Thomas of East Orange Campus is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,136. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kenny Rosario. The Montclair star has 27 catches for 443 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jim Matsakis' team takes on the Lancers. As it stands, the Mountaineers are in second, while Livingston is in fifth.
Seton Hall Prep made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,792 from 4,536. The improvement was largely due to a 42-0 victory over Barry Kostibos' team last week.
