Basketball Recap: Harrison Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Harrison had won four straight home games dating back to last season and Elsie Ahnert did her part to make it five on Saturday. The Harrison Raiders blew past the Anderson Indians 55-31 thanks in part to Ahnert, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2023.

Another player making a difference was Sadey Ringler, who posted five points and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Despite the defeat, Anderson had strong showings from Amiya Fleming, who earned four points and five boards, and Cambreanna Cambreanna, who put up four points and seven boards. Cambreanna has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

With the win, Harrison broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Anderson, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison will venture away from home to face off against Lafayette Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette Jefferson will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Harrison surely won't give up without a fight. As for Anderson, they will head out to challenge Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
