The Tattnall County Warriors pushed their score all the way to 70 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 79-70 to Coffee. Tattnall County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin McMillian, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. McMillian also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyon Cahoun, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Coffee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Junitho Benson led the charge by scoring 26 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Khyolic Paulk, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Tattnall County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Coffee, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tattnall County and Pierce County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
