BONESTEEL, S.D. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Avon (S.D.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Pirates beat South Central co-op [Bonesteel-Fairfax/Burke] (Bonesteel, S.D.) 38-7.
After taking the lead on a
Logan Mudder touchdown run in the first quarter, the Pirates led 24-0 at the half.
Avon expanded its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
South Central co-op [Bonesteel-Fairfax/Burke]'s lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.
A 48-13 Avon victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
South Central co-op [Bonesteel-Fairfax/Burke] (0-1) goes up against Marty Indian in a Great Plains (9 Man) game matchup next week, while Avon (1-0) locks horns with Gregory also in a Great Plains (9 Man) game.
