The Maret Frogs will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Coolidge Colts. Maret has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 267 points over their last six matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Maret walked away with it. They beat KIPP DC Legacy College Prep on Saturday by the very same score they won with last week: 44-6. Maret might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Coolidge faced Anacostia in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coolidge walked away with a 14-6 victory over Anacostia on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Coolidge sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Coolidge's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ronnell Wheeler, who rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown, and Malachi Williams, who rushed for 106 yards on only 11 carries. Jacieon ?Way? Robertson and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Coolidge's win.
Their wins bumped Maret to 11-1 and Coolidge to 7-4.
Maret was dealt a bruising 37-8 loss at the hands of Coolidge in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Maret avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
