It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Eustis Panthers had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 72-61 win over the Raiders. The win was nothing new for Eustis as they're now sitting on six straight.
Eustis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayveon Dale out in front who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Dale hasn't dropped below two steals for 18 straight games. Another player making a difference was Timothy Key, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Eustis has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for South Sumter, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-11.
Eustis will square off against The Villages Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Villages Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matches -- so hopefully Eustis likes a good challenge. South Sumter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
