Canyon View has gone a perfect 3-0 against Manti recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Falcons will face off against the Templars at 3:00 p.m. Canyon View will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
If Canyon View beats Manti with 16 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Falcons blew past Delta 16-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Falcons have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Zach Maine was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Canyon View got a massive performance out of Price Atwood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Atwood has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Canyon View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matchups.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Manti and Carbon, and Manti kept the tradition alive. The Templars put the hurt on the Dinos with a sharp 10-3 win on Tuesday.
Like Canyon View, Manti also got a great game from a two-way player: Lane Cox. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cox also tossed no walks, which is notable because Manti is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-4 otherwise. Cox was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.
Cox wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kellen Lund, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Lund is becoming a predictor of Manti's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Porter Daniels also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Canyon View pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Manti, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Canyon View has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. However, it's not like Manti struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Canyon View took their victory against Manti when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 17-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
