The Hanover-Horton Comets will face off against the Homer Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Hanover-Horton got the win against Concord by a conclusive 10-4. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Cameron Sherwood, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Hanover-Horton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Lukas Nadell was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Homer never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Vandercook Lake 8-0.
Brock Butler and Reid Tracy were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Butler didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Meanwhile, Tracy pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. With that strong performance, Butler is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. At bat, Butler went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Tracy went 2-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits Tracy has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Xander Dubois was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Butler, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Homer's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Hanover-Horton, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Hanover-Horton suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Homer when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
