The Crestview Rebels will challenge the Southeast Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Crestview's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Southeast's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Crestview fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Salem on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Quakers by a score of 5-4. The Rebels' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Makayla Mckee spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Crestview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Smith, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Rylee Cloutier also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southeast). They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over Newton Falls on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Savannah Powell looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Ava Stephens was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Miranda Timko, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
Southeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Southeast pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Crestview, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2-1.
Southeast's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crestview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. It's a different story for Southeast, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Crestview's hitters?
Crestview came out on top in a nail-biter against Southeast in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
