The Meade Buffaloes can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Southwestern Heights by a score of 46-36. The victory was just what Meade needed coming off of a 64-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Meade found their leader in underclassman Sayler Stapleton, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stapleton has scored at least 25% of Meade's points. Dallas Sherman was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 9 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Southwestern Heights saw an underclassman step up: Layla Pearl kisner scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The contest was Pearl kisner's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Meade's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Southwestern Heights, the last time they won on the road was back on Friday. Having now lost three straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meade will face off against South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (South Central is ranked 133rd, while Meade is ranked 155th). Southwestern Heights is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Hugoton.
