Basketball Game Preview: Christian Collegiate Academy Bulldogs vs. Lighthouse Baptist Academy Ambassadors

The Christian Collegiate Academy Bulldogs will take on the Lighthouse Baptist Academy Ambassadors in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Christian Collegiate Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Presbyterian Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 62-41 to the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Bobcats are ranked 32nd).

Gabe Collier put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tahj Hill, who put up nine points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lighthouse Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Aletheia Christian Academy.

Christian Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lighthouse Baptist Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for Christian Collegiate Academy against Lighthouse Baptist Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the squad secured an 87-52 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lighthouse Baptist Academy's Clay Scofield, who dropped a double-double on 45 points and 17 rebounds.
