Uxbridge is 8-1 against Douglas since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Uxbridge Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Douglas Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Uxbridge has not done well against Sutton recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Uxbridge managed a 47-42 win over Sutton. The win was some much needed relief for Uxbridge as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Uxbridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ethan Mccusker led the charge by scoring nine points. Another player making a difference was Colin Spencer, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Douglas was able to grind out a solid victory over Oxford on Friday, taking the game 59-46.
Douglas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adam Dunphy, who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dunphy has scored at least 25% of Douglas' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Howard, who scored 12 points.
Uxbridge's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1. As for Douglas, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Uxbridge didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Douglas when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 69-65 victory.
