Baseball Recap: Lindbergh Has No Trouble Against Mehlville

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Lindbergh and Mehlville had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Flyers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-7 victory on Thursday. The Flyers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Nathan Leist looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ethan Cantareira was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (four). Another player making a difference was Luke Seiler, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Lindbergh's record now sits at 11-3-1. As for Mehlville, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Lindbergh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
